A musical by Lothar Becker
The new musical by Lothar Becker is called "Sanatorium Sonnenblick" and tells the story of the day on which the sanatorium is to be honored by the Ministry of Health as the best mental hospital in the country. This takes place in the presence of the district administrator, the press and the newly elected Miss Germany as a surprise guest. They all meet the inmates of the institution, Professor Brömme, who can only portray camels and has created a sculpture of the head physician, the erotomaniac and philanderer Mr. Schramm, Mrs. Kratzbürstel, who is haunted by her sewing machine, and of course the head physician, Dr. Schmeill, who practices exclusively in women's clothing and always has a sufficient amount of sedatives on hand for his nurses. But what is the secret of the local politician suffering from amnesia after a fall during an election rally, who was admitted the previous evening?
"Sanatorium Sonnenblick" provides a humorous look into an asylum full of crazy people, which has astonishing parallels to our seemingly normal world. This time, too, there are plenty of great songs performed live by a rock band, a brass quintet, a choir and many soloists.
A selection of people who have been involved in this play. Many more work behind the scenes who are not mentioned here. See: About us.
